Plant Life Cycles

Each year, the students focus on the life cycles of different organisms. Our focus this year will be on the life cycle of a tomato plant. This week. each class got to begin their tomato plant by planting seeds. Each student got their own seeds and will be documenting the growth and changes they notice in their plants over the next few week.

Many students will be documenting these changes using google slides. They will be including real photos of their plants and recording the changes they see as notes. You child can access their tomato diary through their teacher's google classroom. I highly encourage you to check it out and watch our little plants grow! Below is an example of a student's diary thus far.

At the end of the year, students will be bringing their plants home. In past years, some students planted their tomato plant in their yards and have been able to enjoy some delicious cherry tomatoes from them!

Be sure to ask your child about how their tomato plant is doing and check out their diaries!
